Rangnick Praises Harry Maguire

DBasia.news – Manchester United coach, Ralf Rangnick, praised Harry Maguire’s performance when he met Leicester City in the 2021-2022 Premier League match, at Old Trafford Stadium, Saturday (2/4).
Harry Maguires is often the target of being used as a scapegoat when Manchester United does not achieve maximum results. Moreover, the captain often makes mistakes when opposing players score goals.
However, Maguire showed a different appearance when Manchester United hosted Leicester City. Even though the match ended 1-1, Rangnick acknowledged Maguire was perfect.
Throughout the match, Maguire became the command in the Man United back line. He made one successful tackle, three interceptions, one aerial win and four clearances.
“Harry Maguire appeared without gaps either defensively or building attack. He also likes to play from the left. However, I put him on the right side after seeing him in the England national team and as a player who uses the right foot it will be easier,” said Rangnick as reported by Express.
Overall, Rangnick admits the match did not go easy. Moreover, the Foxes took the lead through Kelechi Iheanacho in the 63rd minute before Fred equalized three minutes later.
“The second half was better. We had a hard time finding our rhythm in the first half. Maybe it was because of the international break.”
“We allowed a goal in the moment of transition. The good thing is, we responded well and scored a goal. In the end, we are not happy with the result. However, the second half was right,” said the coach.
The addition of one point makes the road for Manchester United to reach a Champions League ticket even more difficult. Now, Man United occupies the sixth post with 51 points from 30 matches. The Red Devils are three points behind Arsenal who are in fourth place and have two more games to play.
