Rashford is Weak in Finishing
By db-admin
DBasia.news – The former England captain, Alan Shearer, assessed Marcus Rashford to be weak in the final finish.
Rashford became Manchester United’s main striker this season following the move of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan.
He had made two goals in his inaugural week against Chelsea. However, after that, he never again listed his name on the scoreboard.
“Even this season, when Manchester United’s main striker Romelu Lukaku left, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preferred to play Anthony Martial as a center forward,” Shearer said.
“I get the feeling Marcus feels more confident playing on the left where he doesn’t have to play much against the goal. There is no denying that he is an extraordinary talent, but I don’t think he is a natural goal scorer. We sometimes forget that he is only 21 years old, so he still has plenty of time.”
“This is a bigger problem for United because they have taken a big risk by not replacing Lukaku. Going to the season only with Marcus, Martial, and Mason Greenwood is very risky and it is a big burden for the three of them to perform in a long season,” Shearer added.
