RB Salzburg Manager Reveals Difficult to Accept Defeat from Atletico Madrid
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Failure to win in the first two matches of the Group A phase of the 2020-2021 Champions League season has made the manager of Red Bull (RB) Salzburg, Jesse Marsch, could not cover up his disappointment.
“It’s difficult to get just one point from our first two matches in the Champions League,” Marsch said as quoted on the official UEFA website, Wednesday (28/10).
Most recently, Salzburg failed to pick the perfect score during a visit to Atletico Madrid’s headquarters on the second matchday of Group A at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, Wednesday (28/10).
Having taken the lead through Dominik Szoboszlai’s two goals in the 40th minute, and Mergim Berisha in the 47th minute, Salzburg was forced to ponder after Los Colchoneros young striker Joao Felix recorded a brace in the 52nd minute and 85th minute.
Furthermore, Salzburg actually performed well in their last two matches in the Wide Ear event. In total, they recorded four goals with each game scoring two goals in each.
“Again, tonight we scored two goals for the team with the best defense in Europe. There are many positive things to take. But we have to improve some things in the defense sector,” he continued.
On the other hand, defender Rasmus Kristensen explained his disappointment after being forced to leave empty-handed. However, he explained that Salzburg had shown their best against a team like Atletico.
“We are disappointed because of the final result. But we are proud of the way we played against a good team. Right now we will get back to training and fix what we were missing,” said Kristensen.
The Danish defender is also looking forward to facing off in the third week of Group A against defending champions Bayern Munich at the Red Bull Arena Stadium, 4 November.
