Reactions on Cristiano Ronaldo’s interview

By db-admin

DBasia.news – There are always consequences for every action we take. And this also happened when Cristiano Ronaldo conducted an interview with Piers Morgan, which caused an uproar.

In his interview, the 37-year-old player criticized Manchester United and also personally ‘attacked’ figures such as Wayne Rooney, Ralf Rangnick, to his current coach at Man United, Erik ten Hag.

Indirectly, Ronaldo’s career has practically ended in the second period with the Red Devils, so it’s only a matter of time before Ronaldo leaves, even though the club is expected to give him a fine.

Reactions also came from various football figures, including the figure he teased, Wayne Rooney, who incidentally was his former teammate at Man United.

“I don’t know why he criticized me so badly, maybe because his career is over and I am still playing at a high level,” Ronaldo told Morgan of Rooney.

“I wouldn’t say that I look better than him, which is true.”

Rooney’s response was unexpectedly better than Ronaldo’s words. In fact, Rooney understands Ronaldo’s frustration as he is not used to being a substitute.

“I know Cristiano. I know it will be tough for him to sit on the bench. He doesn’t want to be on the bench. He wants to play every minute of every game,” said Rooney, who currently coaches DC United.

“He’s definitely had an amazing career, better than any of us. I think he and (Lionel) Messi are two of the greatest players to play. Unfortunately, age is catching up with us all.”

“He’s not 23, he’s 37 now. I think it’s a challenge. It’s going to be difficult and it’s going to be hard to accept what’s happening. Not playing, not being on the bench. It’s up to him to try and get back in the team. If he does that, obviously he should take advantage of the opportunity.”

Other Responses

Two other former team-mates at Man United, Wes Brown and Rio Ferdinand, also responded to Ronaldo’s interview. Brown has been disappointed by the way Ronaldo has handled his situation at the club, while Ferdinand is already convinced Ronaldo will leave soon.

“It was one of those situations where it became clear that he wanted to leave the club,” Brown said.

“Personally, I think you have to do it a different way but Ronaldo will feel it in a certain way and has decided that this is the course of action he wants to take. I am a little heartbroken about the whole situation but until I see everything it’s hard to say too much about it.”

“But I’m disappointed with how it played out because he was a great person and a great professional until now. In the end when things have to be said like this you do it behind closed doors and with the right people. It has never happened this way before.”

“I’m pretty clear on the situation. It’s over. His relationship with Manchester United is over. The book is closed, he’s taken the club by storm and put them in a position where there’s no turning back. Does anyone at the club want to keep Ronaldo, they can’t now after what he said,” Ferdinand added.

“You can’t sit here and defend that from Cristiano Ronaldo because, deep down, and I know for a fact, this was all made for one thing and that is for him to leave the club.”

“I don’t feel like the club is going to take him back and I don’t think he wants to come back, that’s for sure, and I think this was all made up for that reason, that he wants to gt out of this place.”

Football pundit, Jamie Carragher, no longer held back his words and considered that Ronaldo had gone too far so that Man United had to expel him immediately, terminating his contract.

“It’s been like that since he came back, basically it’s the Cristiano Ronaldo show, sometimes it’s good, last season on the pitch he gained a lot of goals. This season because he hasn’t played a lot it seems like he wants the attention he can’t get because he’s not on the pitch,” added Carragher.

“I think they should sack him or move him if that gives him a free transfer because at the moment they are trying to build something that is not ready to win the Premier League or the Champions League.”
