DBasia.news – Real Madrid managed to lift the 2022 Club World Cup trophy after beating Al-Hilal in the final with a score of 5-3.

In the match that was held at Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah, Rabat, Morocco last night, Los Blancos won twice first through Vinicius Junior (13′) and Federico Valverde (18′), before the Saudi Arabian club reduced it thanks to Moussa Marega’s strike (26′).

Entering the second half in the 54th minute, veteran striker, Karim Benzema extended his team’s advantage after maximizing Vinicius’ assist, and Valverde scored his second goal of the game four minutes later.

Al-Hilal made it 4-2 thanks to Luciano Vietto’s goal three minutes after an hour of play, only for Vinicius’ second goal (69′) to dispel the opponent’s resistance to score the final goal through Vietto’s brace (79′).

Madrid are the most successful club in this tournament, previously known as the Intercontinental Cup, with them winning eight titles: 1960, 1998, 2002, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2022.

In this match Valverde completed his tally of ten goals in all competitions. Long before that, coach Carlo Ancelotti had bet on retiring if his player failed to achieve this season’s target.

Madrid didn’t have much time to celebrate considering that they would host Elche in the LaLiga continuation on Thursday (16/3).
