Real Madrid Follows Barcelona to the Top 16, Zidane: Copa del Rey title is Next!

Los Blancos won a 3-1 victory over Unionistas in the 32nd match of the Copa del Rey at the Pistas del Helmántico, Salamanca, Thursday (1/23/2020) AM. After successfully escaping, Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane, is eyeing the 2019/2020 Copa del Rey title.

Gareth Bale opened Real Madrid’s goal. Unionistas equalized in the 57th minute through Alvaro Romero Morillo. Luckily for the visitors, Juan Francisco Gongora Mateo scored an own goal.

Real Madrid locked the victory before the fight was over. Brahim Diaz scored Los Merengues’ closing goal in the 90th + 2 minutes after taking advantage of Casemiro.

These results has made Zinedine Zidane admitted to being thrilled with these results. Zidane’s ambition is to win the Copa del Rey with Real Madrid this season.

“I am pleased with all the performances. Real Madrid are aware that matches like this are played on a small pitch. However, this gives us more motivation,” said Zinedine Zidane.

“Moreover, there is more motivation because this is the Copa del Rey event and Real Madrid wants to win it. The match was challenging to win and we had difficulties.”
