Real Madrid Getting Close to Italian Stars at Euro 2020

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Real Madrid did not want to dissolve in sadness after parting with their captain and defender, Sergio Ramos. Los Blancos are now targeting one of the stars of the Italian national team at Euro 2020 as his successor.

Madrid did let Ramos go for free at the end of this month. Both parties failed to reach an agreement in contract extension negotiations.

Ramos’ track record, which is often injured, seems to be the main consideration for Madrid. The Spanish giants want to find players who are younger and fresher.

Madrid has indeed managed to bring in David Alaba from Bayern Munich for free. But the Spanish capital club seems to still want to strengthen its defense sector.

Madrid’s radar now points to Italian left-back Leonardo Spinazzola. The AS Roma player did look stunning from the first two matches at the 2020 European Cup.

According to AS, Madrid’s representatives have met with Spinazzola’s agent, Davide Lippi. However, no agreement has been made.

From the same report, Madrid will offer Borja Mayoral in a package offer to Roma. The 24-year-old has strengthened Il Giallorossi since last season on loan.

Roma reportedly wants to make Mayoral status permanent. This is what Madrid are trying to use to exchange it with Spinazzola.

Reporting from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma are quite interested in the idea of an exchange of Spinazzola and Mayoral. But Lazio’s city rivals ensure there has been no official offer from Madrid.

Madrid’s interest in Spinazzola is not good news for Marcelo. The Brazilian is likely to be released if the transfer materializes.
