Real Madrid really wants to meet with PSG
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Real Madrid’s meeting with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the 16th round of the 2021-2022 Champions League did not make Toni Kroos’ guts shrink. He admitted that he was looking forward to this meeting.
Madrid became one of the teams that suffered the most with the re-draw of the last 16 of the Champions League. That’s because Los Blancos initially only matched with Benfica.
Madrid president, Florentino Perez without hesitation called this a scandal. He attacked UEFA who took full responsibility for the drawing process.
PSG on paper is much stronger than Benfica. The French giants have even become one of the main favorites to steal the title as they possess the Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe trio as well as a row of other stars.
This fact actually made Kroos even more motivated. He considered PSG to be a real test of the quality of Madrid’s new era under Carlo Ancelotti.
“We have a very interesting rival in the next round. I think PSG is the toughest opponent of the five possibilities we have,” Kroos said, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.
“We are looking for a game like this. With a lot of quality on the pitch we wanted to see what happened and in the end we are Madrid.”
Madrid should not feel inferior in front of PSG. After all, the Spanish giants have more tradition in the Champions League.
Madrid are now also on the right track to return to glory in Europe. The Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior duo can be a nightmare for PSG’s defense.
“We always look forward to this type of game and we have a lot of confidence to qualify for the quarter-finals,” state Kroos.
