Real Madrid Replace Casemiro With Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Real Madrid are reportedly currently trying to target Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to replace Casemiro.

Manchester United have officially signed Casemiro for £60 million. The 30-year-old Brazilian will earn £8.4m a year at Old Trafford.

With Casemiro set to leave Los Blancos after making 336 appearances for the club, Real Madrid have already started looking for a replacement.

According to the Daily Mail, Carlos Ancelotti is desperate for Real Madrid to sign Hojbjerg from Tottenham Hotspur.

The report suggests that Ancelotti is an admirer of Hojbjerg and even tried to sign the 27-year-old when he was manager of Everton. However, the player chose to join Tottenham.

Hojbjerg has three years left on his current contract and has started both of Tottenham’s games this season, scoring in the 2-2 Premier League draw against Chelsea.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Casemiro will leave the club in order to make a move to Manchester United (MU).

Speaking to the press about Casemiro ahead of Madrid’s game against Celta Vigo tomorrow, Ancelotti said: “I spoke to him this morning. He wants to try a new challenge, a new opportunity. I and the club understand it.”

“With what he’s done at this club and the people, we have to respect him. There are talks at the moment, nothing official, but he wants to leave.

“We wish him all the best in his next challenge.”

Don Carlo continued: “The midfield of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro is very, very important for Real Madrid. Casemiro’s team-mates respect him and his decision. They love him, the club loves him.”

Casemiro has been with the capital club since 2013, during which time he has won the Champions League title five times, as well as three La Liga titles and four other domestic trophies.

Both Real Madrid and United have agreed in principle on the move. The legality of the transfer will be rushed in the next few days, although the chances of the anchor being listed as a United player in time to feature in Monday night’s big clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford are slim.

What was the reason Casemiro left the Bernabeu? Apparently the 30-year-old felt ‘marginalized’ at Real Madrid so he decided to leave at the start of this season.

Real Madrid bought Casemiro from Sao Paulo in 2016. At that time, the purchase price of the midfielder was only 6 million euros. However, Casemiro did not immediately become the main choice in the Real Madrid midfield.

Los Blancos had loaned Casemiro to Porto in the 2014/2015 season. It was the right decision because Casemiro got enough playing time. The following season, Casemiro became the main choice in Madrid’s midfield.
