Real Madrid will settle Marco Asensio’s contract issue after the 2022 World Cup

DBasia.news – Marco Asensio, 26 years old, has been with Real Madrid since 2014. He was there for eight years with Madrid and was loaned to Mallorca and Espanyol, Asensio managed to achieve great success.

Asensio won three Champions League titles, three LaLiga trophies and two Spanish Super Cups with Los Blancos. Now he is faced with a crossroads because his contract will expire in June 2023.

If there is no development in the contract, Asensio can leave for free (free agent) in 2023. The problem is not much different now at Madrid, namely the lack of playing time he has.

This season he has played just six times with a single goal in 46 minutes, a very small number. At the age of 26, Asensio is clearly still a target for a number of European clubs and is at the prime age of European players.

Madrid are aware of this. Ancelotti said he would discuss Asensio’s contract after the 2022 World Cup ends in December.

“We haven’t talked about Asensio’s contract. He played a bit but when he did it he showed he could do it. He is decisive and he will have more playing time in the future, and after the World Cup we will talk about his contract position.

Asensio can play in many positions from wing forward to attacking midfielder. It’s not easy for him to play in Madrid’s current squad, especially when Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo are in good form.
