Real Madrid won their first El Clasico

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Real Madrid managed become winners of the inaugural El Clasico this season after overcoming Barcelona with a score of 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Both welcomed El Clasico with an unbeaten status in La Liga plus similar results (seven wins and a draw), Madrid and Barca fought each other for prestige and a place at the top of the standings.

This time, Los Blancos emerged victorious thanks to goals from Karim Benzema (12′) and Federico Valverde (35′) in the first half, before saving Ferran Torres’ late goal (83′) through Rodrygo’s penalty (90′).

Real Madrid were on the lead in the first El Clasico of the season in the 12th minute through Karim Benzema. Despite the ups and downs, Toni Kroos managed to send the ball forward for Vinicius Junior, who then ran into the penalty box. He tried to kick past Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and the German keeper was able to parry it, but the ball was immediately crossed by Benzema to make the Santiago Bernabeu roar with joy.

After winning possession of the ball, Barcelona appeared more threatening and almost neutralized the position in the 25th minute. Raphinha sent a horizontal cross over the face of the goal and Robert Lewandowski at the far post was able to kick the ball into the empty net, unfortunately his shot failed to reach the ball.

Lewandowski’s failure was sanctioned by Madrid 10 minutes later. Starting with Vinicius, Ferland Mendy broke free down the left and found the ball into the middle, where Federico Valverde controlled the pass with one touch before firing a shot from outside the box that Ter Stegen was unable to reach.

Barca entered the scoreboard in the 83rd minute through Lewandowski’s ingenuity. Ansu Fati came in from the left before finding the ball through the middle to Lewy, who passed it to Ferran Torres after realizing he was unable to kick from his position. The Spanish national team striker then struck the ball into the corner of the goal that was almost unmarked.

The late goal revived Barca’s hopes of saving at least a point from their arch-rivals, but those hopes were tarnished when Eric Garcia fouled Rodrygo in the box. Ter Stegen guessed the direction of the Brazilian young star’s execution correctly, but was unable to deny it, 3-1 for Madrid!
