Recently Fired, Former Napoli Coach is Closer to Becoming Everton’s Manager
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Being recently dismissed as Napoli coach last week, Carlo Ancelotti is no longer unemployed. Tuesday (12/17) AM, Ancelotti was reported to have moved to become Everton’s coach.
Ancelotti was reportedly already on Merseyside to begin the negotiation process. Sky Sports also reported that the negotiation process between Everton and Ancelotti went smoothly. In fact, both parties reportedly had reached an agreement verbally.
Everton themselves are currently looking for a new coach. They have yet to appoint a brand-new figure after officially firing Marco Silva some time ago. In addition to Carlo Ancelotti, the club’s management have reportedly also targeted Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City, Mikel Arteta.
Now, Gylfi Sigurdsson and his colleagues are cared for by Duncan Ferguson as an interim manager. Ferguson himself is one of the legends at Goodison Park. He has also been a coach in the Toffees youth team in recent years.
Since being cared for by Ferguson, Everton has indeed shown an increase in appearance. This is also evidenced by the victory over Chelsea and the draw they achieved at the headquarters of Manchester United last weekend.
Although managing to improve the performance of Everton on the field, Ferguson has not been able to improve the position of the Toffees in the Premier League table. Currently, they are still stuck in 16th place with a collection of 18 points. Only three points ahead of Southampton in the relegation zone.
