DBasia.news – Cristiano Ronaldo started the debut with Juventus FC in Champions League with a negative episode. Playing against the familiar team in LaLiga, Valencia, Ronaldo got a red card when the match reached 29′.
In the recorded match, Ronaldo made a contact with the opponent, Jeiso Murillo in the penalty box. The referee Felix Brych didn’t saw the incident. But the goal-line assistant Marco Fritz did.
Sky Sport Italia analyzed the dialogue between the two Germany referees by lip-reading both from Brych and Fritz. It was revealed Fritz told Brych that Ronaldo pulled Murillo’s hair.
The main referee asked two times whether the foul deserved a red card. Fritz answered firmly that CR7 should get a red card. After the suspension, Ronaldo was really upset and left the game in tears.
Now Ronaldo and Juventus are waiting for the match banning. Certainly, the former Real Madrid player will absent in the next Champions League match against Young Boys on October 2. The red card can’t be overturned because he doesn’t have any chance for a hearing.
But if UEFA considered the foul was severe, CR7 might be banned from more than one match. However, the fact that referee Brych didn’t see the incident directly could be UEFA’s consideration to not punish the Portugal national team player in more than one match.
