DBasia.news – Paris Saint-Germain striker, Kylian Mbappe, opened up regarding rumors of his transfer last summer. Mbappe denied a number of PSG statements which were not based on facts.
Kylian Mbappe is rumored to want to leave PSG in the summer of 2021. His destination is Real Madrid. In fact, Los Blancos have made a number of offers to sign Mbappe.
However, PSG did not budge from the decision to keep Mbappe. Les Parisiens continued to challenge Madrid and seemed unafraid to lose Mbappe for free because the player’s contract only had one season remaining
Mbappe insists that he really wants to leave PSG. However, he felt betrayed by PSG who issued statements that did not match the facts. Mbappe felt like he was branded as a thief.
“I asked to leave in July because from the moment I did not renew my contract, the club wanted to accept a transfer fee to find a quality replacement. I wanted something respectable. I said if you don’t want me to leave, I will stay,” Mbappe said as reported by RMCsport.
“Personally, I don’t really appreciate Paris Saint-Germain saying: ‘He asked to leave in the last week of August’ because it’s wrong. It makes me feel like a thief. I told them early, at the end of July.”
“I asked to leave in July, but it’s not true that I have rejected seven contract extension proposals. Paris Saint-Germain gave me a lot. I’ve always been happy for four years here and I’m still happy,” said Mbappe.
“It’s scary when your president says Mbappe can’t leave for free. Hearing that, I gulped and thought about what is happening now.”
However, Mbappe promised to continue to give the best for PSG. “I love football too much and I have always respected PSG,” said Zinedine Zidane’s admirer.
Mbappe’s transfer saga is predicted to continue in the middle of this season’s transfer market. It was PSG’s last chance to receive money from the transfer of the star.
