DBasia.news – Former Premier League player Jamie O’Hara believes West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice is better than Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.
The former Tottenham Hotspur player believes Rice will enter the current Reds team. According to the Evening Standard, the West Ham midfielder has been linked with various move rumors this summer. Clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea are said to be interested in the star.
O’Hara speculated on the Brit’s next destination on the talkSPORT YouTube channel on March 24.
One fan claimed the West Ham midfielder would find it difficult to break into Jurgen Klopp’s side, to which O’Hara responded.
“He’s going into the Liverpool team. Come on! He’s better than Henderson. I know he’s won more, and I know he’s a great captain for Liverpool, but is he better than Declan? Rice can do everything Henderson can do,” he said.
According to the Daily Mail, West Ham have placed an astonishing price tag of £150m for their prized midfielder.
Rice made his senior debut for the Hammers in the 2016-17 season against Burnley. Since then, he has made 183 appearances in various competitions for the club, scoring nine goals and providing the same number of assists.
Henderson, meanwhile, joined the Reds in 2011 from Sunderland. He was appointed club captain in 2015 following the departure of Steven Gerrard. He has won five major trophies with the club. Hendo has made 433 appearances across competitions for the Reds, scoring 33 goals and providing 57 assists.
