DBasia.news – Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona striker, received a red card when meeting Osasuna in the 2022-2023 LaLiga match. Several parties accused Lewy of deliberately seeking a red card in order to play in the 2022 World Cup.
Barcelona’s mission is to maintain a position at the top of the standings when they visit Osasuna’s headquarters. However, the match turned complicated after the hosts scored through David Garcia in the 6th minute.
In fact, Barca are wedged after Lewandowski receive a second yellow card in the 31st minute. The former Bayern Munich striker violated Garcia by elbowing his neck.
Previously, Lewandowski had also pocketed a yellow card when the game was 11 minutes in. He stopped Nacho Vidal’s movement by being pulled.
Fortunately, Barcelona rose in the second half. Pedri (48′) and Raphinha (85′) goals gave Barca a 2-1 lead. Barcelona also maintained the advantage and brought home the 3 points.
However, the victory did not cover Lewandowski’s red card incident. The former Borussia Dortmund player was accused of deliberately seeking a red card so that he would not play again until the 2022 World Cup rolls around.
Express, citing conversations on social media, reported that there were allegations that Lewandowski had deliberately violated a harmless situation.
That way, Lewandowski can finish the match faster and maintain his physical condition ahead of the 2022 World Cup. Moreover, Lewy is Poland’s mainstay on the front lines. In essence, Lewandowski is not injured.
In addition, Lewandowski also rarely received a red card during his career. Previously, he had only received two red cards, namely when defending Znincz Pruszkow and Dortmund. The last time Lewy came out earlier was in the 2012-13 season.
However, one thing that needs to be emphasized is that all allegations have not been proven. However, one thing is for certain, Lewandowski is unable to play in Barca’s duel after the World Cup, which is against Espanyol (31/12).
