Romelu Lukaku caused conflict in Inter Milan’s board of directors

DBasia.news – Romelu Lukaku’s transfer saga has created a new conflict in the Inter Milan board of directors. It was claimed that the club officials did not have a voice regarding the fate of the Belgian striker.

Lukaku is Chelsea’s main target this summer. The Blues did not surrender even though some of their offers were always rejected by Inter.

Most recently, the defending Champions League champion is ready to redeem Lukaku at a price of 130 million euros. The offer made Inter falter.

Chelsea seemed to get wind after news broke that Lukaku was interested in returning to London. This condition has made Inter’s bargaining position weakened.

Lukaku’s decision is predicted not to be separated from Inter’s internal conditions which was not conducive. That’s because he had vowed loyalty to the Nerazzurri.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the brains behind Lukaku’s planned sale were the Suning Group, who owns Inter. This step is the best solution to balance the club’s balance sheet.

The sale of Achraf Hakimi was not enough to make Inter avoid the financial crisis. That’s because La Beneamata must earn a profit of 80 million euros this summer to secure his position.

Meanwhile, Hakimi’s sale to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) was only 71 million euros. That hasn’t been added to the 20% cut in the salary bill.

On the other hand, Inter still has to bring in a number of players to strengthen Simone Inzaghi’s squad.

Selling Lukaku is one solution.

However, Suning Group’s plan was not approved by other club officials. Beppe Marotta (club director), Piero Ausilio (sports director), Dario Baccin (deputy sporting director) were the most opposed to this plan.

Reporting from Il Corriere dello Sport, all three could resign if Lukaku was sold. Inter’s internal situation really heated up.

Inzaghi is no less disappointed by the rumors of Lukaku’s sale. He felt cheated as club officials promised to only sell Hakimi this summer.

Without Lukaku, Inzaghi’s plans and schemes could fall apart as the competition begins soon. He also had to rack his brain again to find a replacement.

Surprisingly, Lukaku is not the last star who may be leaving Inter this summer. Stefan de Vrij also has the potential to take a similar step.
