Romelu Lukaku Is Haunted by a Nightmare in the Match against Juventus

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Inter Milan are believed to be able to reduce their full strength when they travel to Juventus headquarters in the 2020-2021 Serie A continued. But a bad record haunts the Nerazzurri’s mainstay striker, Romelu Lukaku.

Inter have no interest in the match which will take place at Allianz Stadium, Saturday (15/5). Antonio Conte’s team have confirmed themselves to win the Scudetto.

However, the hot rivalry of the two teams makes prestige at stake. Inter certainly want to prove themselves worthy of being the best by beating the defending champion.

To make this happen, Conte is very likely to field the duo of Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez on the front lines. The two players are indeed the mainstay of Inter to score goals.

Lukaku also still has the chance to win the Serie A top scorer title even though he is still six goals behind Cristiano Ronaldo. The match against Juventus is a golden opportunity for the Belgian striker to cut the distance from his rival.

The problem is, Lukaku always has bad luck when he meets Juventus. Of the five previous occasions, not even the former Chelsea striker was able to score.

Lukaku first met Juventus in the 2018-2019 Champions League group phase while still in Manchester United’s uniform. He failed to score when the Red Devils lost 0-1 at Old Trafford and missed the trip to Allianz Stadium.

One season later, Lukaku moved to Inter. So far he has met Juventus on four occasions.

Lukaku first met Juventus in an Inter shirt on October 6, 2019 during a 1-2 defeat in the 2019-2020 Serie A event. The only goal of the city rivals AC Milan was scored by Lautaro Martinez.

Meanwhile, at the second meeting of the same season, Inter again defeated 0-2 from Juventus. Lukaku couldn’t do much in this match and was replaced by Alexis Sanchez in the 77th minute.

Lukaku’s luck slightly improved in the 2020-2021 season after being able to bring his team to beat Juventus by a score of 2-0 at the first meeting in Serie A. But he still failed to get his name on the scoreboard.

That bad record also continues to the Coppa Italia event. Lukaku was unable to score against Juventus when he met in the semifinals so his team failed to advance to the final.

The match will be Lukaku’s chance to end his bad record against Juventus. But it is not impossible that this bad record will continue and add to the burden of this tall player.
