DBasia.news – John OShea, a former Manchester United player, is following Chelsea’s transfer activity. He advised Chelsea to sign Everton’s Richarlison as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who will soon join Inter Milan.
As is known, Lukaku immediately returned to Inter after failing to shine with Chelsea. The Blues have reportedly agreed to a price of 8 million euros (approximately Rp. 125 billion) to release their players on loan.
In addition, Chelsea will get a bonus of 4 million euros (approximately Rp. 62 billion) if Lukaku shows good performances. However, the Blues did not accompany the purchase option permanently at the end of the loan.
Meanwhile, Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel, is looking for a new striker to replace Lukaku. The German coach also received advice from OShea.
OShea suggested Tuchel to bring in Richarlison even though last season did not perform well with Everton. However, the Blues have to compete with Arsenal who are also reportedly interested in the Brazilian striker.
“Richarlison didn’t have the best season last year but he appeared in some big and important games for Everton and in an ideal scenario Frank Lampard would try to keep him,” O’Shea said. ).
“But if Everton sell Richarlison, whether he goes to Arsenal will depend on whether they can get Raphinha and Gabriel Jesus.”
Furthermore, OShea said, Lukaku’s departure would leave a void in the Chelsea striker position next season. If a new player with a big dowry arrives, he thinks the North London team will likely be left behind by several other players.
“If Romelu Lukaku leaves, there will be room at Chelsea for him. One big transfer will probably trigger another three or four big transfers as well.”
