Ronaldo Denies Ferre’s Remarks about His Ballon D’Or Ambitions

DBasia.news – It didn’t take long for Cristiano Ronaldo to reply to comments from France Football Editor Pascal Ferre about his Ballon d’Or ambitions. Ronaldo denied everything Ferre said.
As is known, the 2021 Ballon d’Or award ceremony was held at the Theater du Chatelet, Paris, France, Tuesday (30/11). PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) superstar Lionel Messi won it and became his seventh achievement.
That adds to the gap with Ronaldo who has won it five times. When Messi won the 2021 Ballon d’Or, netizens immediately satirized Ronaldo and it became ‘hot’ because of what Ferre had said earlier.
“Ronaldo has only one ambition: that is to retire with more Ballon d’Or wins than Messi. I know that because he told me,” said Ferre.
Ronaldo was not present at the 2021 Ballon d’Or award ceremony with issues related to travel rules amid the coronavirus pandemic, but there are also those who think he didn’t come because he didn’t win it.
The 36-year-old immediately replied to Ferre’s comments and called him a liar. Through Instagram Ronaldo denied Ferre’s words.
“Today’s results explain why Pascal Ferre made the statement last week, when he stated that I told him that my only ambition was to finish my career with more Ballons d’Or than Lionel Messi,” Ronaldo said.
“Pascal Ferre lied, he used my name to promote himself and to promote the publications he worked for.
“It is unacceptable that the person responsible for awarding such a prestigious prize could lie in this way, with great disrespect for someone who has always respected France Football and the Ballon d’Or.”
“And he lied again today, justifying my absence from the Gala with an alleged quarantine that has no reason to exist.”
Ronaldo also explained that he always respects whoever wins the Ballon d’Or and maintains the values of fair play. He also explained his true ambition.
“I always want to congratulate those who won, with sportsmanship and fair play that have guided my career from the start, and I did so because I’ve never played against anyone,” Ronaldo said.
“I always win for myself and for the club I represent, I win for myself and for those who love me. I didn’t win against anyone.”
“The biggest ambition of my career is to win national and international titles for the club I represent and for the national team of my country.”
“The biggest ambition in my career is to set a good example for everyone who wants to become a professional footballer. The biggest ambition of my career is to leave my name written in gold in the history of world football.”
“I will end by saying that my focus is already on the next Manchester United game and on everything that, together with my team-mates and our fans, we can still achieve this season. The rest? Leave it alone,” he explained.
