DBasia.news – There was one interesting moment in the Manchester United vs Villarreal duel. Cristiano Ronaldo appeared less enthusiastic than Edinson Cavani when chasing the ball.
Man United faced Villarreal at Old Trafford on the second matchday of Group F of the Champions League, Thursday (30/9/2021). The Red Devils fell behind through Paco Alcacer’s goal in the 53rd minute.
The team coached by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was only able to equalize the score in the 60th minute through Alex Telles’ volley kick from outside the penalty box. Substitutions were then made by Solskjaer starting in the 75th minute with one of them playing Cavani.
The Uruguayan striker appeared persistent and one of them was when he chased the ball, which Ronaldo had given up trying to achieve. Cavani’s persistence showed results and was able to snatch it from the opponent’s control.
Indeed, there was no goal in Cavani’s effort, but Ronaldo had be able to imitate what Cavani showed: struggling with all his might to press the opponent even though the ball seemed impossible to reach.
Ronaldo in the end scored the decisive goal for Man United’s 2-1 victory in injury time. The goal was also contributed by Cavani, who gave a pass from the left side to then slowly entered the penalty box.
This victory is MU’s first victory and they sit in third position with three points. MU is right behind Young Boys as the team that defeated them on matchday one and Atalanta lead Group F with four points.
Man United will next face Atalanta on matchday three. The duel will take place at Old Trafford, Thursday (21/10).
