Ronaldo scores against Sheriff

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Cristiano Ronaldo was restored to his starting status in a 3-0 win against Sheriff on matchday 5 of the Europa League group stage.

Previously, the former Real Madrid and Juventus striker was omitted from the squad during his team’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge for refusing to enter the match against Tottenham Hotspur.

As for the match against Sheriff last night, Ronaldo scored the Red Devils’ third goal in the 81st minute, to complete the opener from Diogo Dalot (44′) and Marcus Rashford (65′).

Victory over Sheriff keeps the Red Devils’ hopes of qualifying as winners of Group E.

Erik ten Hag’s team are currently stuck in second with 12 points, 3 behind Real Sociedad who they will face in their last match.

An additional 3 points against Sociedad must be realized by the Red Devils if they want to secure the top of the standings, as the team that finishes top has the right to automatically qualify for the last 16, while the runners-up will play teams that have fallen from the Champions League.

Following his strike against the Sheriff, Ronaldo has now scored 111 goals with his left foot at club level.

Ten Hag’s tram must shift their focus to the Premier League, with his team scheduled to host West Ham on Sunday (30/10) evening WIB the day after tomorrow.
