Ronaldo to Juventus: Bad News for Italy Car Industry

By db-admin

DBasia.newsJuventus decision to invite Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid is gaining pros and cons. Not everyone agrees with the €105M transfer.

One of them is Fiat’s worker. Italian Labor Union announced to Fiat worker in Melfi, southern Italy, call for strike movement as the protest of Ronaldo’s transfer.

Fiat worker once rejected the rumor of Ronaldo’s transfer. They threatened will take an action. Fiat worker assumed the money to buy Ronaldo should be used for investment in the car industry they work at.

Fiat Car Company, owned by Agnelli family, is the main sponsor of the Turin club. Agnelli’s family has 63,77 percent share in Juventus.

“It’s unacceptable that, while FCA and CNHI workers continue to make huge economic sacrifices, the company spends hundreds of millions of euros on the purchase of a player,” said the statement reported by Bloomberg.

“We’re all employees of the same owner, but in such a period of enormous social difficulty this difference in treatment cannot and must not be accepted.”

“The company should invest in car models that guarantee the futures of thousands of people, rather than enriching only one.”

The strike will start from 15th to 17th July.
