Ruben Loftus-Cheek Signs a New Contract with Chelsea

DBasia.news – After appointing Frank Lampard as Chelsea’s new manager and making Mateo Kovacic’s contract permanent from Real Madrid, the Blues also managed to tie Ruben Loftus-Cheek with a new contract.
The Blues tied Loftus-Cheek with a long-term contract until 2024. The 23-year-old player was also reported to have received a salary increase of 150,000 pounds a week.
Responding to the new contract he received, Loftus-Cheek finally spoke up on the matter, he was thrilled as he could continue to strengthen the team for the next five seasons.
“I feel very happy and grateful that I will stay here for the next five seasons. Chelsea is where I grow and develop, hopefully I can continue to be here for a long time,” Loftus-Cheek told the club’s official website.
“When I was eight or nine, of course you never thought you could be here for a long time, as at that time you just wanted to enjoy football and play with friends,” he added.
Loftus-Cheek’s performance in the 2018/19 season was great, although he often started the match on the bench, slowly but surely the English player became the mainstay of Maurizio Sarri and successfully appeared in 33 matches with six goals scored. He also became the key to the success of his team winning the Europa League.
Closing the conversation, the player who had also been loaned to Crystal Palace hopes to be able to present many trophies to Stamford Bridge.
“I really hope that I will be able to win many trophies with Chelsea, and also receive a personal award. I will continue to work hard to be a key player in the team,” he explained.
