Ruud Gullit’s words for Chelsea
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Former Chelsea player Ruud Gullit hopes the Blues learn a lot from past mistakes in dealing with young players.
Ruud Gullit made Chelsea his last destination before hanging up his boots in 1998. Not surprisingly, he had deep feelings for the Blues.
The man who is now 57 years old is asking Chelsea not to rush with young players. According to him, Chelsea had a bitter experience with Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne, and Romelu Lukaku – players who performed well after leaving the Stamford Bridge.
“I’m glad young players finally get a chance. With players like Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne, and Romelu Lukaku, there are too many good footballers who have left Chelsea because they feel they never get a chance.” Gullit said as reported by Goal.
Gullit rate, the decision to appoint Frank Lampard as the interpreter of tactics was right. Although the results have not been maximized, Chelsea is on the right track.
“The results are not good, but for me, the most important thing is they display the philosophy of good football. I am very happy with young players who get the chance. Although, it also happened because of the transfer ban,” said Gullit.
Gullit called on all parties to be patient with Chelsea under Lampard. Because, by relying on young players, achievements will not come instantly.
Gullit rate, Chelsea need to follow the Ajax Amsterdam policy. Ajax managed to achieve several achievements despite making young players as the backbone.
“Look at Ajax Amsterdam, look at what they achieved in the Champions League last season. It was not a bad result with young players. They are quite good and Chelsea have a great academy,” explained Gullit.
One of the young Chelsea players who stole the attention was Tammy Abraham. The 21-year-old has four goals in four Premier League games in 2019-2020.
