Sacking Julen Lopetegui Is Real Madrid’s Biggest Mistake for Toni Kroos

DBasia.news – Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos regrets Julen Lopetegui’s exit after sacked by El Real high officials after series of minor results in 5 LaLiga consecutive matches.

Lopetegui has the same fate just like his colleague, Rafael Benitez, who sacked in 2015-2016 and replaced by Zinedine Zidane. Lopetegui’s firing happened after Madrid got defeated by Barcelona in Clasico with a 1-5 score at Camp Nou.

The defeat was the 6th this season of all competitions. Madrid high-officials took the shortcut by firing the 52-year-old coach. Kroos really regrets the decision.

By his Twitter account @ToniKroos, the Germany player assumed Lopetegui’s sack is the biggest loss for Madrid players. Hence, they failed to fulfill Lopetegui’s expectation and had the difficulty in adapting.

“The biggest defeat for players is when the Coach has to go. Especially in this case because he is a great coach and great person. Thanks, Julen!” Kroos wrote.

Real Madrid B coach Santiago Solari replaced Lopetegui. He was a part of Los Blancos in 2000-2005. The debut of Argentinian coach is the first leg of big 32 Copa del Rey on Thursday, November 1, 2018.
