Salah opens up the opportunity to head to Barcelona since there is no clarity from Liverpool
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Mohamed Salah demands clarity over his future at Liverpool. He did not rule out turning to Barcelona.
Salah’s contract at Liverpool will expire in the summer of 2023. This condition has made big clubs ready.
Salah’s value will indeed decrease if there is no contract extension agreement with Liverpool until the end of the season. The Reds will also be at a crossroads between keeping him or letting him go for financial gain.
Salah is actually willing to stay longer at Anfield. But he demanded a significant salary increase.
As one of Liverpool’s main stars, Salah reportedly wants to hold the status of the club’s highest-paid player. The 500 thousand pounds pay per week has in fact made Liverpool management think twice.
This is what caused Salah to be furious. He also asked Liverpool’s management to immediately make a decision regarding his future.
“The decision is in the hands of management and they have to resolve this issue. There is no problem but we have to reach an agreement for the contract,” Salah said as quoted by the Daily Mail.
“Your score shows how much the club values you and shows they are ready to do whatever it takes to keep you. But the decision itself is not based on financial matters alone.”
Mentioning Barcelona
Interestingly, Salah has dragged Barcelona into this matter. He is indeed one of the targets that Xavi Hernandez wants to obtain.
Salah has his reason for this. Liverpool management at least became more aware of the risk of losing the former AS Roma player.
“I read what was said about Xavi’s interest in signing me.
It’s something that makes me happy that a team like Barcelona is interested in me.”
“But I am content at Liverpool and we will see what happens in the future. Right now I prefer to stay in the Premier League because it is the strongest league in the world.”
