DBasia.news – Juventus defender Daniele Rugani has failed to join Arsenal. Because the Bianconeri did not like the offer put forward by the Gunners.
As reported by Goal, Arsenal allegedly submitted a two-season loan offer with an option to buy at the end of the contract. The offer was immediately rejected by Juventus who wanted to defend Rugani, even though they now have five central defenders.
Rugani, 25, was rumored to leave after Matthijs de Ligt arrived from Ajax Amsterdam. Including both, Juventus has five defenders and the other defenders are Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, and Merih Demiral.
While Arsenal need a new supply in the backline after recruiting Gabriel Martinelli, Dani Ceballos, William Saliba, and Nicolas Pepe. Saliba was originally a central defender, but, he was immediately loaned back to AS Saint-Etienne for a season.
Arsenal need an alternative plan to replace Laurent Koscielny if he leaves. Moreover, Shkodran Mustafi was unreliable and rumored to leave for AS Monaco. Rugani became one of their targets besides Celtic’s left-back, Kieran Tierney.
Juventus want to maintain Rugani because they are worried about Chiellini’s fitness conditions. The former Empoli defender also doesn’t mind staying in Turin because he was coached by his former coach at Empoli, Maurizio Sarri.
Meanwhile, other Juventus players, Sami Khedira, who was caught on camera watching the Emirates Cup match at Emirates Stadium, Arsenal’s headquarters, is getting away from Arsenal.
Believed by Calciomercato, Khedira was more inclined towards Wolverhampton Wanderers than Arsenal. The German-passport midfielder was indeed rumored to be leaving Juventus. Khedira prefers to be involved in the project of Nuno Espirito Santo’s team rather than Arsenal.
