Sandro Tonali was Denied of Joining AC Milan at a Young Age

DBasia.news – Brescia midfielder, Sandro Tonali, explained that he almost joined AC Milan as a child. Tonali was rejected by Milan and he did not regret the decision.
Tonali is often compared to Italian soccer maestro, Andrea Pirlo. Apart from the long-haired stature and similar playing position (anchor midfielder), Tonali also began a career at Brescia, a club that had been supported by Pirlo from 1992 to 1998 (from the academy to the first team).
The player born in Lodi, May 8, 2000 was estimated by many big Italian clubs and became a hot commodity in the transfer market this summer. Uniquely, Tonali does not like to be compared to Pirlo and actually wants to be compared with other Milan legends, Gennaro Gattuso.
“I like playing in front of the defense, but I prefer not to talk about Pirlo. I think the public compares us because of the hairstyle, so maybe I should cut it,” Tonika told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Andrea is out of reach, unique like Steven Gerrard or Luka Modric, but I think if I have to be compared to anyone, maybe Gennaro Gattuso,” he added.
Compared to Pirlo and admiring Gattuso. Tonali is destined to defend Milan. However, Tonali admitted that he had been rejected by Il Diavolo Rosso when he was eight years old and played as an attacker.
“I was eight years old and underwent a trial at the Milan academy, even though at that time I was a striker. They refused me. I would not say I have regrets, because I went to Piacenza,” Tonali added.
“I will not close the opportunity to earn experience abroad, but I really like the style of football in Italy,” explained the member of the Italian U-21 national team.
