Sarri Prefers Collecting Midfielders to Strikers

DBasia.news – Maurizio Sarri prefers the midfielders to strikers in Chelsea. He thinks a midfielder might be the solution to score the goal when the attacking line is stuck.
Chelsea defeated Manchester City 2-0 on the 2018/2019 Premier League match at Stamford Bridge Stadium, Saturday (8/12). N’Golo Kante and David Luiz created the two goals.
The result was beyond expectation. Besides Manchester City progressing performance, Chelsea are also dealing with Alvaro Morata’s injury. Consequently, Sarri replaced Eden Hazard as the main striker.
“The reason was clear. We played with Hazard as a striker, so if we have to change something there was Giroud,” Sarri said cited by FourFourTwo.
I think it was useless to have two strikers on the bench and I prefer to have more midfielders,” he said.
“I was in trouble with the wingers. The only option was (Ruben Loftus-Cheek). I prefer this,” the manager emphasized.
Sarri revealed Hazard actually played well in the match against Manchester City. The former Napoli coach feels Hazard deserved to score.
“He had some problems at the beginning of the match, but I think he played really a very great second half. Maybe he deserved to score,” Sarri said.
Sarri might continue to place Hazard as the striker. Moreover, the Belgium national team player has scored 7 goals and 8 assists in 15 matches of Premier League.
“I think it’s a very good option. We will play like today in the future for some matches of course.”
