Sarri Supported to Stay at Chelsea

DBasia.news – After Dennis Wise, now it is the turn of another Chelsea legend, Gus Poyet, who asks Maurizio Sarri to stay.
As is known, Sarri later reportedly will return to Italy and manage Juventus, which was left behind by Massimiliano Allegri. Even club owner Andrea Agnelli is willing to fly to Baku, Azerbaijan, to discuss this possibility when the Blues face Arsenal in the Europa League final.
Not wanting a coach who gave his former club the Europa League title, Poyet asked management to fence off the coach so he wouldn’t go anywhere. For him, Sarri was an important figure behind the revival of the Blues last season.
“Sarri, for me, has done very well. I know we talked at the beginning of the season about the style of football, about Sarriball, blah, blah, blah. But in the end, he finished third behind the two best teams for years in the Premier League. He won the European League and was in the League Cup final, which they lost on penalties. So it’s not too bad,” Poyet said.
“I’m not sure whether Chelsea wants him to leave, or he wants to leave. It seemed to me that he had been criticized enough for the work he was doing and he was the one who wanted to leave.”
“I want Sarri to stay. Having the results they have, I think it’s a good choice to keep him for another year. But I have a feeling that he is Sarri who wants to leave,” Poyet added.
