Scoring the winning goal, Romelu Lukaku brings Inter Milan to the semifinals

DBasia.news – Inter Milan managed to defeat Bayer Leverkusen with a narrow score of 2-1 in the continued 2019-2020 Europa League quarter-final at the Merkur Spiel-Arena, Tuesday (11/8) AM. Antonio Conte’s squad is confirmed to qualify for the semifinals.

Leverkusen had a golden opportunity in the 61st minute. Unfortunately Kerem Demirbay’s hard kick was kept away by Samir Handanovic.
Five minutes later it was Inter’s turn to threaten Leverkusen’s goal. Alexis Sanchez fired hard, but Hradecky managed to keep up.
Leverkusen’s best chance to equalize came in the 79th minute through Leon Bailey’s movement. However, Kai Havertz and Kevin Volland were unable to meet the substitute’s mature bait.
Inter won another penalty at the end of the match after Christian Eriksen was fouled in the forbidden box. But again the decision was overturned by VAR as Barella had done a handball before the ball reached Eriksen’s feet.
The 2-1 score finally lasted until the game was over. Inter for the first time returned to the semifinals of European competition after last doing so in 2010 which led to the Champions League title.
