DBasia.news – The Senegal national team is in danger of appearing without Sadio Mane when competing in the 2022 World Cup. The 30-year-old player added the names of injured players ahead of the tournament.
Mane suffered an injury while defending Bayern Munich in the 2022-2023 Bundesliga, Wednesday (9/11). He was withdrawn in the 20th minute as Die Roten defeated Werder Bremen 6-1.
Mane sat on the pitch holding his right foot as the game entered the 15th minute. After undergoing treatment, the former Liverpool player was actually pulled out and replaced by Leroy Sane.
Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann could not confirm how severe Mane’s injury was. Pulling him out was only a precautionary measure.
“Mane was struck in the tibia (shinbone). It’s always uncomfortable and he had to have X-rays,” Nagelsmann told Eurosport.
“I hope it’s not a major injury. But I’m not sure at the moment.”
Mane’s injury didn’t just worry Nagelsmann. The entire Senegal football fans also seem to be anxiously awaiting news of the player’s injury.
Mane is now one of Senegal’s main stars. His presence is very much needed to help Aliou Cisse’s team go far in the 2022 World Cup.
Senegal will start their adventure at the 2022 World Cup in exactly two weeks. The African Cup of Nations champions are scheduled to challenge the Netherlands on November 21.
