Sergio Aguero Makes Sweet Farewell With Manchester City

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Premier League champions Manchester City closed the 2020-2021 season in the league with a 5-0 victory over Everton at the Etihad Stadium, Sunday (23/05). City legend Sergio Aguero scored twice in that match.

Man City won the match 5-0 through goals from Kevin De Bruyne (11′), Gabriel Jesus (14′), Phil Foden (53′) and two goals from Sergio Aguero (71′ 76 ‘). Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton direction did not do anything with 31 percent of the ball.

The match didn’t decide anything but at the Etihad Stadium with the fans present at the farewell stadium it was perfect for Aguero. The 32-year-old Argentine striker decided to leave at the end of the season after 10 years with the club.

Record after record was broken by the player who presented five Premier League titles for Man City. And his two most recent goals against Everton add to the sweetness of the record like a cherry on a cake.

Quoted from Opta Aguero has now scored 184 Premier League goals, making him the player who broke the record for Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney as the Premier League’s top scorer for one club (Rooney’s 183 goals).

“I want all the fans who see me playing at the stadium to remember me for what they saw me doing on the pitch,” concluded Aguero after the match quoted by Goal.

“I always say that you enjoy yourself on the pitch because of the support from the fans. When you feel the love from the fans, things become a lot easier.”

“It’s the same for anyone in any job; when someone believes in you, you do better. I owe a lot to the people at this club because I have City fans to thank you for everything.”

Mission Not Over Yet

The former Atletico Madrid striker’s journey has ended in the Premier League, but Aguero’s mission is not over. There is still one more task to try to end the wait for the first Champions League title.

Man City will face Chelsea at the Estadio do Dragao on Sunday (30/05) in the morning WIB in the Champions League final. City have never won the Champions League and Aguero can help Pep Guardiola’s side try to win it.

“He (Aguero) is a special figure for all of us. He’s so good. He helped me a lot and we can’t replace him. We can’t,” said Guardiola emotionally when talking about Aguero.
