Serie A Is Better than Premier League

The former Liverpool player who just moved this summer to Cagliari, Ragnar Klavan, also felt the culture difference between England and Italy football. With no doubt, he thinks the playing level in Serie A is more superior compared to the Premier League.

“I can see the level in Serie A is superior to English football and it’s only getting stronger. The mentality is crucial, no matter where you are playing. If you don’t have the right concentration, you’re going to struggle even against the worst players,” Klavan told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Despite his short period in Cagliari under Rolando Maran, Klavan could see the similarity between Maran with his former manager in Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp.

“Klopp and Maran have some similarities too, as they have a very simple way of putting things, especially to defenders. If you move the wrong way, they’ll repeat it until you understand,” Klavan added.

 

“When you’re under pressure, both tend to keep working on you until you get it right in training as well as during a match,” the Estonian 32-year-old central back concluded.
