By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Sassuolo was able to break Brescia’s four-game winning streak. Sassuolo’s match against Brescia in Serie A ended with a score of 2-0, at the Mario Rigamonti Stadium, Brescia, Thursday (12/19/2019) AM. This has made Brescia be in 18th place and Sassuolo in 11th in the standings.

The win boosted Sassuolo’s position to 11th place with 19 points, while Brescia is still stuck in 18th with a collection of 13 points, the Italian League’s official website stated.

This match was originally scheduled to be played in the seventh week, but was shifted to honor the death of Sassuolo President, Giorgio Squinzi.

The two teams threatened each other at the start of the match. Nicolas Spalek’s half-volley kick was able to be muted, while Domenico Berardi’s shot bounced over the crossbar.

Sassuolo opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Junior Hamed Traore broke the offside trap and completed the opportunity perfectly to break into the host’s goal.

Mario Balotelli saw that a number of his efforts were deflected so they were not on target, while Ernesto Torregrossa’s header was denied by goalkeeper, Gianluca Pegolo, and no one could grab the bouncing ball.

Former Italian national team player, Balotelli, was finally able to glide to grab Dimitri Bisoli’s cross, but his goal was not validated due to being offside.

Sassuolo’s goal was continued to be threatened by Balotelli, but this time his header was still on the goalpost. Moments later, goalkeeper Pegolo had to hold Ernesto Torregrossa’s header and the Sassuolo player struggled to throw the ball.

However, it is Sassuolo who was able to double their lead. Francesco Caputo received the ball with his back facing the goal, he then outwitted Sandro Tonali and fired horizontally through Brescia’s goal.

Brescia substitute, Alfred Donnarumma, had the chance to package a consolation goal before the fight was over, but he failed to aim the lob perfectly when Pegolo moved forward.
