Seven Games without Winning at Arsenal, Emery Fired
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Arsenal have not moved from a bad phase under the control of manager, Unai Emery. Most recently, Arsenal lost to Eintracht Frankfurt. Arsenal have now failed to win in their last match in all competitions.
The news of Unai Emery’s dismissal had indeed been rumored in the last few hours. The situation was inseparable from Arsenal’s defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt 1-2 at the Emirates Stadium. That way, the Gunners have had no wins in seven consecutive matches.
In addition, Emery reportedly also did not have a harmonious relationship with a number of Arsenal employees. The Spanish manager had a problem with senior player, Mesut Ozil.
“A sincere thank you to Unai Emery and his colleagues who did not stop in an effort to make Arsenal return to compete at the top level. That is what we all expect and ask for. We wish Unai Emery success in the future,” explained the owner Arsenal, Josh Kroenke, on the team’s official website.
Unai Emery began coaching Arsenal at the start of last season. The former Paris Saint-Germain tactician played 78 matches with an average of 1.87 points per game.
“The decision has been taken as the results and performance were not at the required level,” continued the official Arsenal statement.
Furthermore, Arsenal are in no hurry to find Emery’s replacement. The Gunners has appointed Freddie Ljunberg as interim manager.
“We have asked Freddie Ljunberg to take responsibility as temporary head coach. We have full faith in Ljunberg to carry forward,” explained Arsenal.
“The search for a new coache is ongoing. We will make further announcements when the process is complete,” the Gunners added.
Some newspapers in the UK have stated that
Mauricio Pochettino is a strong candidate to replace Unai Emery. In addition,
Massimiliano Allegri and Nuno Espirito Santo were also included in the
exchange.
