DBasia.news –  The news from Dailymail revealed that AS Roma is getting closer to Arsenal’s center back, Shkodran Mustafi. He will be borrowed for one season with the option to purchase at the end of the contract.

Giallorossi allegedly submitted the proposal plus a permanent purchase of £ 23 million next year. Roma still needs an experienced central defender after being left by Kostas Manolas for Naples.

Rome had originally brought in two central defenders, Mert Cetin and Gianluca Mancini. However, both were young and lacking in experience. That is why Roma are still targeting experienced central defenders to accompany them.

Mustafi became an option after the difficulties Rome expreienced in recruiting Toby Alderweireld and Dejan Lovren. Moreover, the 27-year-old defender has difficulty playing at Arsenal in Unai Emery’s latest squad. The reason is, Arsenal already had a stock of central defenders piled up.

Plus the arrival of David Luiz from Chelsea, Arsenal now have quite a number of central defenders. Besides Luiz there are still: Sokratis, Calum Chambers, Rob Holding, and Konstantinos Mavropanos. Serie A is not a foreign league to Mustafi as he has played at Sampdoria (2012-2014).
