DBasia.news – Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson gave Liverpool his big praise. Ferguson is grateful that he made the decision to retire so he doesn’t have to face the Reds at this time.
Liverpool have again been respected and become a great power in England and Europe under the direction of Jurgen Klopp. The German manager has coached the club since 2015 and has successfully won the Champions League and ended the curse of 30 years of league titles.
Ferguson did not escape seeing the lunge of the team who were United’s arch rivals. While praising Jordan Henderson et al Ferguson are also grateful for the decision to retire in 2013.
“I always think of the Manchester United and Liverpool derbies as the best matches this season. Simply put, the two most successful teams in England if you add up all the trophies they won together,” said Ferguson as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
“Obviously you have to beat Liverpool to win anything. It’s similar to my time at Aberdeen – you have to beat Rangers and Celtic to win anything and you can add mentality to that.”
“To do that, I have to take a path that is always difficult, that means I have to wait in terms of building a club. In the end, the results were extraordinary for us.”
“Now that I have retired, thank God I have actually retired when I saw Liverpool’s performance over the last two seasons, they were phenomenal. I have great respect for Liverpool, I always have,” explained Ferguson.
Ferguson will not miss the North West Derby match in Week 19 of the Premier League which takes place at Anfield, Sunday (17/01) at 23.30 WIB. In that era, MU managed to win 11 Premier League titles (a total of 20 league titles).
