Solskjaer Guarantees Van de Beek’s Future at MU
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Donny van de Beek was advised to leave Manchester United because he was rarely played. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer asked Van de Beek to be a little patient.
Van de Beek was predicted to be the new mainstay of Manchester United’s midfield after being brought off by Ajax Amsterdam ahead of the 2020-2021 season. It looks like it will happen after the player scores a goal on his debut in the Premier League.
But in the end Van de Beek spent more time on the bench. He only appeared as a starter eight times in various competitions.
One of those who advised Van de Beek to leave was former Dutch national team player Ronald de Boer. This must be done in order to secure his place in the Der Oranje squad for the 2020 European Cup.
In fact, De Boer’s suggestion reached Solskjaer. But he understands the urge.
“You do not expect the person taking care of him to be quiet at times, especially when they want the best for them,” Solskjaer said on the club’s official website.
Even so, that doesn’t mean Solskjaer will allow Van de Beek to leave. On the other hand, the Norwegian national gave a guarantee to him regarding his future at Old Trafford.
“There are so many examples of players who need a little time, even quality players. We ourselves have many examples and there are other clubs with examples and sometimes it takes time,” he added.
“I have spoken with him and made him realize how much we value him. He will play tomorrow (against Watford) and this is another good opportunity for him to start.”
It was too early for Van de Beek to give up. Leaving Manchester United will not necessarily make his career better.
