DBasia.news – Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, gives a statement ahead of the match against Southampton in the second week of the Premier League 2021-2022, at St. Mary’s Stadium, Sunday (22/8). The tactician gave an overview of the players who will be played in the duel, including Raphael Varane.
Manchester United fans await the action of the new player, Raphael Varane, in the match against Southampton. Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho is also expected to play from the start of the match after appearing as a substitute when Man United beat Leeds United 5-1.
Red Devils mainstay striker, Edinson Cavani, is reportedly also ready to appear. Solskjaer also revealed the condition of the players.
“Regarding team news, it’s an encouragement that Edinson Cavani has joined, even with Varane. We are getting fitter,” said Solskjaer as quoted by the official Manchester United website.
“You will see on Sunday. They have done well. They will have minutes to play.”
“We had a great week. We’ll see who will fly to Southampton on Saturday,” said Solskjaer.
Another good news for Manchester United is that Eric Bailly, Jesse Lingard and Dean Henderson have started training. Previously, some of these players were tested positive for the corona virus.
“Regarding Dean, he was tired after training. He felt that and we have to check,” stated Solskjaer.
“Now, he feels much better. He passed all the tests we went through together. He trained and built himself again because he lost a few weeks. He worked hard in the gym and on the pitch,” added the Norwegian manager.
However, despite a number of players returning, Manchester United have not been able to perform at full strength. The reason, Marcus Rashford and Alex Telles are still injured.
