Son Heung-Min’s disappointment after Tottenham Hotspur draws against West Ham United

DBasia.news – Tottenham Hotspur star, Son Heung-Min said his team-mates felt ‘devastated’ after three goals scored in the first half were equalized by West Ham United at the end of the match.
In the fifth week of the English Premier League which was held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (18/10), Son opened the scoring for the home team in the first minute by completing Harry Kane’s assist, which then increased the Spurs’ lead seven minutes later after working together with Son.
Kane put the Spurs 3-0 ahead in the 16th minute and the goal looked enough to grab all three points, but West Ham had another ‘idea’ by getting back in the last eight minutes thanks to Fabian Balbuena’s goal, Davinson Sanchez’s own goal and Manuel Lanzini’s late goal.
Son admitted the Spurs players were shaken after the break-up as they felt they could have won.
“The players were devastated by this result, we thought we deserved the three points and played well up to the last ten minutes. This was shocking,” he told Sky Sports.
“This is football. This shouldn’t happen but it is part of football. We have to focus until referee blows the whistle. I don’t want to feel this anymore, it’s a good lesson for us not to happen again.
“We dominated the game from the start and scored three goals quickly and completely controlled the game. We had a few more chances to score, but when you score three goals at home you shouldn’t drop the full points.
“It’s very disappointing for me. The players, the team, all of them were disappointed. It is what it is. It’s unfortunate. It shouldn’t have happened like this.”
On another occasion, the 28-year-old player told BBC Sport that the final result felt worse than a draw and hopes his team learns after letting their concentration drop.
“This hurts. I don’t know what to say. I’m very disappointed, it feels like we lost the match, “he added.
“In the second half we still dominated the game and controlled the game, had some chances that we could have done better. The football game lasts 95, 97 minutes, you have to focus.
“We have to remember this feeling forever so it won’t happen again. It’s unfortunate that we lost two important points, whereas we collectively played really well and dominated as a team and controlled the game, but to get a draw like this feels like losing. “
