By db-admin

DBasia.news – Southampton won the victory when they hosted Everton in the Premier League continued on Sunday, October 25, evening. The Saints gave the Toffees their first defeat with a score of 2-0.

Since the match started, Everton have seen difficulty keeping up with Southampton’s game. Several times Southampton’s attacks led by James Ward-Prowse, Che Adams, and Danny Ings made Everton’s defense difficult.

In the 12th minute, Ryan Bertrand has a chance through a kick from inside the penalty box but is still wide of the target. Everton got their first chance in the 19th minute through Gylfi Sigurdsson. But Sigurdsson’s effort still hit the post.

Host Southampton opened an account for goals in the 27th minute. Soton’s mainstay striker James Ward-Prowse welcomes Danny Ings with a right-footed shot from the right side of the penalty box. The ball into the lower left corner was not able to be saved by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

After eight minutes, the Everton goal was broken again. This time the goal was made by Che Adams. Again, Danny Ings played a role in creating goals. Ings’ bait was continued by Che Adams with a right-footed shot leading to the bottom right corner.

In the second half, Everton put Bernard to try to increase the intensity of the attacks. But the presence of Bernard is still difficult to improve the situation because Southampton play so discipline.

Behind two goals, disaster is approaching Everton after left-back Lucas Digne was shown a red card in the 72nd minute. The former Barcelona player was sent off following his tough tackle on Kyle Walker-Peters.

Score 2-0 for Southampton’s advantage lasted until the game was over. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s team became the first club to beat Everton in the Premier League this season. This victory made Southampton collect 10 points and perched in fifth position.

For Everton, this first defeat made Everton’s points stay at 13. Even so, Everton are still at the top of the standings with the same value as Liverpool in second place.
