DBasia.news – Inter Milan coach Luciano Spalletti emphasized that his ambition with the club is huge. He is not satisfied with just qualifying for the Champions League.
Spalletti brought Inter secured the ticket of the Champions League during his first season. That’s the first time since six recent years.
“The biggest enemy was a lack of trust. I tried to make the players understand that we were all faced with the same obstacle and we could overcome it only as Inter, not as (Ivan) Perisic, (Mauro) Icardi, or Miranda,” Spalletti said.
“Reaching the Champions League changed resignation into enthusiasm. The team is evolving, but I already know that it will never be like the one in my head. When you get closer to that, it’s only natural to raise the bar and think of an even stronger team,” he said.
The high bar is Scudetto. As a matter of fact, the last time Nerazzurri won the Italian League was in 2010.
“There’s an ambitious project here, not a castle made of cards, but one with solid walls. Inter are permitted to reach our objectives, but it’s forbidden to set limits on the final objective. We want to go further,” he concluded.
Currently, Spalletti squad are in the third position of the table with 25 points from 12 matches.
