Starting in September, the Eredivisie would Allow Supporters in the Stadium

DBasia.news – The Dutch football league competition (Eredivisie) is planned to start a new season in September 2020. The highest competition in the Netherlands will allow its supporters to watch the match directly in the stadium.

Regarding the corona virus pandemic, as a measure to prevent spectators who attend must match the maximum limit of 15-35 percent of the stadium’s capacity and the visitor’s supporters are still not allowed to be present.

It was listed as one of the protocol plans for organizing a football competition in the Netherlands which was released by the Dutch football association, KNVB.

The protocol also stipulates that spectators will be placed 1.5 meters away from each other in the stands, they are required to wear masks and are only allowed to purchase food and drinks from sellers in the stands rather than line up at stadium stalls.

“To comply with this distance, only a portion of seats in the stadium can be used,” wrote the KNVB statement.

“The good news, appearing in front of a limited number of spectators is the first step towards a stadium that is re-infested with spectators.”

The Netherlands has decided to stop their football competition in March without crowning anyone as champions in the top two league caste as the COVID-19 pandemic prompted the government to ban crowds in public places until September.

The rule was later canceled last month as Prime Minister Mark Rutte has issued a ban on supporters chanting slogans in matches, although a number of Dutch mayors thought it would be difficult to implement.

The KNVB said they would only give clarity on the rules ahead of the new season.
