DBasia.news – The Champions League this season will have a new color from the referee’s side. A female referee, Stephanie Frappart, was appointed as the leader of the match between Juventus against Dynamo Kiev, Thursday (3/12) am,

Stephanie will be recorded as the first female referee to officiate a match in the Champions League competition. Her quality as a referee is undoubted, as evidenced by Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp who once praised the performance of the 36-year-old referee.

“I spoke with the referee team after the match, I said that if our performance was like they were leading the match, then we would win 6-0,” Klopp told Frappart as quoted by Goal.

“I have a lot of respect, it was a brilliant performance.” He added.

The referee from France has also been busy. In 2019 she was trusted to lead the Women’s World Cup final which brought the Netherlands to the United States.

She also tried the UEFA Super Cup, namely in the Liverpool match against Chelsea in 2019. In the same year, Stephanie was also chosen to be a regular referee in the Ligue 1 competition.
