Still hunting for strikers, Inter Milan are targeting Marcus Thuram and Joaquin Correa
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Inter Milan continues to look for a new striker ahead of the close of the summer transfer window at the end of this month. The Nerazzurri are reportedly between Marcus Thuram and Joaquin Correa.
Inter Milan were forced to sell Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer market of 2021. The Nerazzurri took this step to improve their red balance due to the coronavirus pandemic. Inter earned 115 million euros from the deal.
Now, Inter Milan are starting to forget about Lukaku and focus on finding a replacement. The first striker to join was Edin Dzeko of AS Roma.
Inter Milan will not stop there. Inter needs one more striker to complete the line up in attack.
Italian transfer market expert, Gianluca Di Marzio, reports that Inter have two strong candidates, Marcus Thuram and Joaquin Correa. Meanwhile, Duvan Zapata’s name was slowly fading away.
Inter are negotiating with Borussia Monchengladbach as the owner of Thuram. Reportedly, the Bundesliga club is willing to reduce the request from 30 million euros to 25 million euros.
Currently, Inter Milan’s offer is 20 million euros. Both parties are predicted to reach common ground with the inclusion of a bonus clause.
At the same time, Inter also communicated to bring in Correa. The problem is, Lazio asked 40 million euros for the Argentine player. According to Inter, the Biancocelesti’s asking price is too high.
Inter also hopes Correa’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, can be a bridge that can lower his value. If an agreement is reached on Thuram and Correa, the choice will be returned to Simone Inzaghi to bring one of them.
Inter Milan will face Genoa in the opening match of Serie A 2021-2022, at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Saturday (21/8). The good news is that the Italian league body has allowed supporters to watch live in stadiums with strict protocols and capacity restrictions.
