Still on contract extension issues, Barcelona officials are furious with Dembele

DBasia.news – The endless drama of Ousmane Dembele’s contract extension has frustrated Barcelona officials. The French winger was also urged to make an immediate decision.

Dembele will be on a free transfer in the summer. But Barcelona still want to use his services.

The Blaugrana have repeatedly offered Dembele a new contract. But the negotiation process is still deadlocked even though the player still wants to stay at Camp Nou.

The value of the salary becomes an obstacle to the negotiations between the two parties. Dembele objected to Barcelona’s plans to lower his wages in the first year.

Barcelona have strong reasons for doing this. They have to lower the salary burden to be able to bring in new players.

Dembele’s attitude angered Barcelona’s sporting director, Mateu Alemany. He wanted the end of this drama to be decided immediately.

“The situation has not changed with Dembele. He knows very well what the club thinks,” Alemany told Sport.

“He has offers on the table and he knows that we have to resolve this situation quickly. We hope he stays with us because he is an important player and there will be an update soon.”

Barcelona are in a rush to extend Dembele’s contract. If there is no progress, releasing the player in the winter transfer market is the best option.

It will at least make Barcelona obtain additional income. Although the balance of Xavi Hernandez’s squad could be disturbed by the sudden departure of Dembele.
