Tammy Abraham & AS Roma’s Love Bond Grows, Provided for Derby della Capitale
By db-admin
DBasia.news – AS Roma striker, Tammy Abraham admits that he has felt extraordinary love from his team’s fans since he first came to Italian soil.
Most recently, Roma won 1-0 over Udinese in week five of Serie A which was held at the Stadio Olimpico, Friday (24/09). Abraham scored the winning goal for Il Giallorossi in that difficult match, especially when Lorenzo Pellegrini received a red card in the 89th minute.
The result brought Roma to continue to compete at the top of the Serie A standings. Roma is fourth in the standings with 12 points, under Napoli (15 points), Inter Milan (13 points), and AC Milan (13 points).
“After a defeat, the next game is always more difficult on an emotional level. I think the first 35 minutes showed more quality than we have this season. We were in complete control against a team that was very organized defensively,” Mourinho told DAZN.
“We scored, had more chances, all the transitions went well and the game was in our hands.”
“After the break we lost control of the game, but played as a team. In the most difficult moments of the game, we stick together, close the space and push the ball out into the less dangerous zone. It was a tough game, but good.”
Roma responded in a good way after losing 2-3 to Hellas Verona in Serie A. Abraham was the key to Roma’s victory and has now scored three goals and provided two assists in seven games in all competitions.
Abraham joined Roma for a transfer estimated at £34m, but Chelsea also have a £68m buy-back clause which can be activated after completing his two seasons at Roma.
Abraham hasn’t been at Roma long but he’s already a fan favorite and has a great relationship with them.
“I know there was a lot of pressure with my arrival but I love the fans, the staff, they made me feel like family from day one and I have to repay that kindness,” Abraham said.
“I came here to win, I like to win, the players look up to me, I have to give them confidence and hopefully we will continue to get results.”
Abraham even sang along with the fans in the Olimpico stands. “I know some of the lyrics, it’s a fantastic song, every time you hear the fans sing it’s so beautiful,” Abraham said.
Now, Abraham is looking positively at the Derby della Capitale against Lazio this weekend.
“They (fans) haven’t stopped talking about it (Derby della Capitale) from day one! I’m ready, the players will be ready, I can only imagine how the fans will be on Sunday. Like I said, I’m ready for it,” Abraham added.
