Teams want Manchester City to be sanctioned

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, revealed that there are several teams that want their team to be sanctioned due to the circulating case. Two of them are The Red Devils and The Reds.

Manchester City are facing a legal battle. The Premier League has charged Manchester City with more than 100 cases, the majority of which involve breaches of financial regulations.

The Citizens were accused of using third parties to pay the salaries of players and coaches. Apart from that, Man City also has a sponsor who apparently is still in the same company as the owner.

The case made a number of teams in England write letters of objection. They want The Citizens kicked out of the Champions League.

“There are nine teams. They are Burnley, Wolves, Leicester, Newcastle, Spurs, Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea. They wrote a letter so that Man City can be expelled from the Champions League. That’s what they want,” said Guardiola, as quoted by The Guardian.

Guardiola believes that these clubs are jealous of Man City. In fact, he predicts that now the demands will be even more severe.

“Are they going to stop now? It’s not because of UEFA, but since Abu Dhabi took over. It has been from day one.”

“They are not enemies or friends. There are only interests. They want us to be eliminated from the Champions League. Maybe now we have to go down to League Two or the Conference League.”

Even though Manchester City are facing problems, Guardiola will not leave. In fact, previously the coach from Spain had said he would leave if Man City lied about a similar case.

“I will not leave this coaching position. I make sure of that. I want to stay even longer,” said Guardiola.
